a few sketches of some duergar assassins ...in the world of the duergar the rich houses fight constantly. it proves useful to have a cadre of killers ^^;.. . a few sketches of a few of these assassins ...they pledge loyalty (all things being relative :D) to house ghiri

orc mages ! orcish cleric and the war ritual ! ^^;...:D

orcish mages ...orcs typically focus on evoker schools(fire magic in particular...but there are also powerful necromantic orders ). mages will be relatively(compared to average orcs) slender as they have historically devoted themselves to studies versus labor and war...altho they are no strangers to the battlefield.

orcish cleric and the war ritual ...orcs are highly ritualistic...one finds altars a nearly constant presence in  orcish dwellings and a visitor will stand in awe(and fear ^^;) as he looks at the massive monuments to the orcish gods in the major cities. this priestess is performing a dance on one of the battle rituals..before battles the priestesses will perform these ritual dances

an orcish skirmisher ... orcish light infantry . used to harass/and scout enemy armies.

a sketch of a clan of orcish nobles. these orcs control a wide swath of land that overlaps with dwarves and humans. the more provincial, and warlike, orcs are represented by shamans/warlords and barbarians(their appearance is also more 'orclike'-thicker necks more prominent fangs/tusks)...the orcs of the cities and courts(various princelings/merchants/necromancers/clerics) actually more resemble half orcs(thinner faces and fangs that are often filed down), these orcs reside in the lands that border human cities and outposts.

one makes a mistake to assume orcs are crude..orcish guile and cunning is legendary amongst their most hated enemy(the dwarves). orcish court politics would at times make even a drow gasp for breath :D.

this is Sittal Nur , a legendary druig hunter. the druigs are an ancient race of hunters...as old or older than the mind flayers-and the two races have warred since they first crossed paths aeons ago. in this sketch Sittal lays in wait in the depths of the underworld-he has set traps and lures all over this cave system...he is hunting the  powerful mind flayer prince Renal ... needless to say the battle will be epic :D

sketch of a beholder lord ...these are incredibly ancient and incredibly powerful creatures. they hunt mind flayers as prey ^^;...and in turn are hunted by teams of mind flayers(one of the few times flayers will group).

a sketch of kronston , he is a renasce ...a character brought back to life via a necromantic ritual. the renasce awaken with memories and consciousness of their past lives...and are more than a bit angry about being revived. typically they will be former mages / clerics / anti-paladins (kronston is a former anti-paladin) :w00t:.

the awaken ! ^^;..:D new creature and codpieces galore :D

a sketch of a couple of the awaken ...these are flesh golems that have regained consciousness and killed their creators ^^;. they will always be evil...good characters that awake as flesh golems inevitably go insane and end up killing themselves. evil characters however view this as a new lease on life .... they make for dangerous foes as they are incredibly strong and can, depending on their past class, cast spells ...and the glint off one of their codpieces will blind characters for 2 rounds :D

drow with flesh golem ! introducing the surgeon class ! ^^;...:D

in drow society , golem making is almost an art form. drow that make flesh golems are called surgeons ... they make remarkably lifelike creations - that can at the highest levels speak and follow very advanced and complex commands. in fact the golems are highly desired by drow royalty as body doubles.

these golems will be heavily perfumed as something about their creation still smells of the artificial and unnatural ^^;...

a sketch of a flesh golem ^^;...this fellow is actually pretty well constructed(he has a piercing attack with nails grafted into one of his fists) and would prove highly valuable to a wizard or warlock-desiring a guard for his lab. golim's are much more reliable than undead...and in fact a golem that this one could be repaired relatively easily. he would obey simple commands-mainly ... kill ! :D. he has a shield grafted onto his back for additional protection...
